Alan Robert McLain 73, of Weymouth, formerly of Quincy, Virginia and Washington State passed away from complications of diabetes on October 10, 2025. Born on August 5, 1952, in Alexandria, Virginia.
For 35 years, Alan served as a bus driver for special needs students in the City of Quincy, Massachusetts. His unwavering reliability and steady presence became a source of comfort to many families over the years. The children he transported and their families came to know him not just as a driver but as a dependable figure who cared deeply about their well-being.
Alan had a lifelong passion for mechanics and was known for his skill with all kinds of vehicles. Whether it was cars, boats, or trains, he found joy in understanding how things worked. His mechanical talents were matched by his love of music—he especially enjoyed playing the drums.
He is survived by his sister Heather McLain Hart and her husband Craig, along with his nieces Sarah and Abigail. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Jane McLain, and his niece Rachael.
