Alan 'Al' Lee Mendenhall passed away on September 28, 2025. Born August 5, 1971 in Coatesville, PA. He was the son of the late Alma Mendenhall (Criswell). Alan is survived by his wife, Jacque, and their kids, Harry and Madison Mendenhall, as well as his stepson, David DeHope. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ann, and is survived by his siblings Elwood (Dale) Mendenhall, Jean Lechner, and Walter (Jeanne) Mendenhall, as well as his many nieces and nephews. Alan graduated from Coatesville Area High School in 1990. Rather than going to College, he chose to learn a trade in Welding, leading him to a fulfilling career at Glasgow Inc. in King of Prussia, where he worked for nearly 30 years. Known for his endless work ethic, Alan was the kind of man who never sat still for long. Whether at his job, helping out family and friends, or building something for his kids in the backyard, Alan gave a hundred percent into everything he did. From giant clubhouses, backyard obstacle courses, to cutting down trees, Alan created things out of nothing, and did it out of love. Alan never hesitated to lend a helping hand. No matter the job, if someone needed help, Alan was always the first to volunteer. His selflessness and kindness touched everyone who knew him. A lifelong Philadelphia Eagles fan, Sundays were sacred in the Mendenhall household. Alan cheered for the Eagles no matter the season's outcome. Win or lose, his loyalty never wavered. When the game wasn't on, you could find him outside, playing with his kids, working on a new project, or just soaking in the day. Alan will be remembered for his smile, his laugh, his generous heart, and the countless memories he created with those he loved. We ask that you remember the joy, laughter, and the light Alan brought into your life. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Alan's celebration of life will be held at the West Chester VFW, on Sunday, November 16, 2025. The celebration will be held from 12 - 4, food and drink will be served, with a cash bar. We ask you to come and join us, wearing your Eagles gear, and share some of your favorite memories with us.
Any questions or concerns can be emailed to his wife, Jacque Mendenhall.
