Amy Jo Matykiewicz, age 56, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Amy was born on June 18, 1969, at St. Mary's Hospital in Minneapolis, to Barbara (Washtock) Palmer and Ronald Matykiewicz. She grew up in Blaine and Coon Rapids and graduated from Coon Rapids High School in 1987.
Amy explored many different careers throughout her life, all focused on helping others, but her true passion was nursing. She was a natural caregiver who always put others before herself. In 2004, Amy earned her Associate of Science degree in Nursing from Anoka-Ramsey Community College and became a Registered Nurse. She touched the lives of every resident and family she cared for—continuing to work with compassion and strength, even through her own cancer treatments until 2022.
Amy's happiest moments were those spent with her family. She loved being outdoors—whether tending to her garden, relaxing at the camper, playing ball with her nieces and nephews, or soaking up the sun. Her laughter, kindness, and gentle spirit brightened every room she entered.
Amy is survived by the love of her life, Tracy Treanor; her children, Alyssa (Derrick) DeBaere, Josh Crowley, Tiauna Treanor, and Matt Treanor; her grandson, Dawson DeBaere; her mother, Barb (Washtock) Palmer; her brothers, Tim (Elena), Dan (Roseann) and Jeff Matykiewicz, and Marco Palmer; her sisters, Michelle (Todd) Dennie and Sara (Kevin) Matykiewicz; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Matykiewicz.
Amy will be remembered for her warmth, her strength, and the love she shared so freely with everyone around her.
