Anne Traversano

Anne Traversano of Branford, Connecticut peacefully entered into eternal rest on October 14, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in New Haven, Connecticut, on April 20, 1937.

Anne is survived by her daughter Anne Ashby and her husband Paul; her son Joseph Traversano and his wife Anna; and her son Michael Traversano and his wife Kerry. She was the proud grandmother of Nicole and Morgan Ashby and Joseph Traversano. She was the cherished great-grandmother of Isabella Palmer and Olivia Fernicola. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart. She was predeceased by her beloved brothers Dominic and Louis Proto.

Anne was a proud graduate of Sacred Heart Academy. She spent her career working for Ann Taylor, where she served as Vice President of the Credit Department until her retirement in 1999. Throughout her career, she forged many lifelong friendships with those she worked with. Following her retirement, she worked for the Community Dining Room in Branford for many years.

Anne was deeply committed to community service. She volunteered her time and talents in many capacities through Saint Mary Church and the Columbus House. One of her most enjoyed contributions was through East Shoreline Catholic Academy (formerly Saint Mary School) where she had the joy of spending time with her grandchildren and other students.

Anne's passions included cooking, dancing, and traveling. Some of her happiest moments were spent hosting loved ones—she found great joy and pride in bringing family and friends together to create lasting memories. She will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Mary Church (Saint John Bosco Parish), 731 Main Street, Branford, CT, on Friday, October 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private.
