1969 - 2025
Anthony L. Johnson, devoted husband, loving father, and visionary entrepreneur, passed away peacefully at sunset with his family and friends by his side on Saturday, November 8, 2025, after a courageous six-year battle with prostate cancer. He was 56 years old and faced every challenge with remarkable strength, perseverance, and grace.
Born in Winchester, Massachusetts, to William and Marilyn Johnson, Anthony graduated from Woburn High School in 1987 and earned his degree from the University of New Hampshire in 1991. Following graduation, he joined the family’s insurance business, where he developed the discipline, leadership, and determination that would later define his life’s work.
In the mid-1990s, Anthony moved to Florida, where he built both a career and a life filled with love and adventure. He met the love of his life, Jolanta, in 1999, and together they shared 26 wonderful years - marrying in 2007 and raising two beloved sons, Cameron and Brady. His boys were his greatest pride and joy.
In 2007, Anthony founded First Light Program Managers, a trucking insurance Managing General Agency that grew under his vision and relentless dedication to become one of the largest in the nation. His entrepreneurial spirit, integrity, and drive inspired everyone around him including devoted staff that cherished him as a leader. In his honor, First Light will continue to carry forward his vision and values under the guidance of the leadership team he so proudly built.
Beyond his professional success, Anthony’s heart belonged to the ocean. A passionate sport fisherman and family man, he traveled the world with Jolanta and their sons, chasing pelagic gamefish in some of the most remote and breathtaking destinations.
One of the defining moments of his life as a fisherman came in 2015, when he fulfilled a lifelong dream by winning the Blue Marlin World Cup in Madeira, Portugal - with his family proudly by his side. Being on the water was where Anthony felt most at home.
A lifelong Boston sports fan, Anthony especially cherished cheering on the New England Patriots. He attended nearly every playoff game during their legendary dynasty years, including all their Super Bowl victories - with his sons always beside him.
Anthony will be remembered for his generosity, adventurous spirit, quick wit, and unwavering pursuit of excellence. His legacy endures through his family, his friends, and all those whose lives he touched through his kindness, mentorship, and example.
He is survived by his loving wife Jolanta, his beloved sons Cameron and Brady, and his loving brothers Newton and Oscar.
The family will be holding a private Celebration of Life to honor Anthony’s memory. They are grateful for the many kind messages, prayers, and support received from so many whose lives he touched.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Anthony’s memory to Prostate Cancer Foundation: https://pcf.org/donate/ - a cause close to his heart.
