The Life & Legacy of Anthony Mathis.

Anthony Mathis, known as Ballie, was born on February 23, 1959 to mother, Josie Marie Saffo and father, Tommy Mathis. Anthony was the middle child.

Anthony went to be with the Lord suddenly on October 24, 2025, with his mother Josie and sister Marsha by his bed side.

Anthony attended Atlanta Public Schools and graduated from East Atlanta High in 1977.

Anthony enjoyed working with his hands as being left handed He installed cable wires for Comcast for 10 years or more. He also like being an electrician. His co workers called him Vitto. His favorite thing to say was "my people."

Anthony had a special place in his heart for dogs, cats and those in need. He also loved to fish and listen to all sorts of music.

Anthony loved telling jokes to make you smile, giving advice, and he loved being around his family. He liked to sit and watch old movies with his mother. We shared a special bond that words could hardly describe filled with laughter. We will miss your humor and you being you.

Anthony enjoyed traveling to different parts of the mountains. He said to clear his mind and that it was so peaceful.

Anthony would read the Bible daily and always kept it open up on Psalm 23. "The Lord is my Shepherd: I shall not want."

Anthony leaves to cherish his mother Josie M. Saffo, oldest sister Marsha Mathis, youngest brother Jerome Saffo, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Anthony leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness and unforgettable memories.
