Barbara Frances “Bunny” Mooney (née Botts), age 90, passed away peacefully with all 5 children by her side on November 13, 2025, in Baltimore, Maryland. A resident of the city where she was born on March 21, 1935, Barbara lived a full and devoted life rooted in faith, family, and the simple joys of home.
Known affectionately as “Bunny,” Barbara was a woman of deep Catholic faith and a dedicated parishioner throughout her life. Her spiritual strength was a guiding light not only for herself but also for those around her. She found great comfort and purpose in her religious community and remained steadfast in her beliefs throughout her years.
Barbara’s greatest joy came from her family. She is lovingly remembered by her children and their spouses Linda F. Willey, Bert (Donna)Mooney III, Christine (Victor) Dickinson, Jennifer (Patrick) Harrison, and Thomas (Sherry) Mooney, as well as two Nieces and two Nephews. Her legacy continues through eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense pride and happiness to her life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bertram E. Mooney Jr., as well as Suzanne Hilgartner, Thomas H. Botts, Melanie Romagnoli, Bruce Hilgartner, Clayton Willey, and Barbara “Bunny” Kram.
Barbara had a passion for yard sales, decorating, and gardening. She took great pleasure in nurturing both plants and people, in which her garden was a reflection of the care she gave to all aspects of her life patiently tended with love and attention to detail. Whether spending time among blooming flowers or gathered with family at home, she found beauty in the everyday moments that made up a meaningful life.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and faithful servant.
May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. A funeral Mass will be held on December 20, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St Joseph Catholic Church, 8420 Belair Road, Nottingham, Maryland 21236
