Bernice (Bea) Palmer, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully with family at her bedside in Scottsdale, Arizona, on October 6, 2025. She was born on February 4, 1943, in Spokane, Washington.
Bea is survived by her loving husband, Art; their three children, Gregg, Art (Shelley), and Christopher; her granddaughters Grace Palmer, Alison Palmer, and Zoe Pittman; and her brother Jim Wiegele (Dagmar). She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Jane Wiegele, and her brother, Dixon Wiegele.
Bea was raised in Thompson Falls, Montana, where she graduated from high school. On her 18th birthday, she married Art, and they set out to explore the world. Bea lived life with relish. She was a gourmet cook who found joy in gathering friends and family around her table for a delicious meal. A master gardener, she was still tending her vegetable and flower beds well into her 70s. Bea was always on the move. She was an avid traveler who loved the beach, the theater, and learning about foreign cultures and cuisines.
She was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
Celebrations of Bea’s life will be held at later dates in Scottsdale and Thompson Falls, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to Hospice of the Valley in Bea’s memory.
