Betty Louise Hall

1925 - 2025

Our dear Mom, Betty Louise Hall, passed away on October 2, 2025, at the age of 99; 20 days short of her 100th birthday. Although challenging at times, she lived a full and happy life, with great love and devotion to her family and friends.

Betty was born in Salem, Oregon and lived in Vancouver, Washington. She was predeceased by her husband, Dan, whom she married in 1948. Mom and Dad met at the Army/Navy YMCA in Long Beach, California, where she was a USO Hostess. Dan served in the Marines during World War II and the Korean Conflict, and Betty was a very proud Marine wife ("Semper fi"). She and Dan raised their family in Bakersfield, California. After Dan's passing in 2009, she was determined to continue living, actively maintaining close relationships with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her three sons: Sky (Barbara), Keith (Melissa), David (Laurie), and her daughter, Karen (Rob). Seven grandchildren: Daniel (Roxanne), Jordan (Vanessa), Christopher (Elizabeth), Emily (Jony), Jacob, Andrew (Stacy), Allison (Russell). 11 great-grandchildren: Jonah, Sofia, Julian, Everett, Vera, Fenna, Clementine, Josephine, Atreyu, Theo, and Lincoln. She also leaves behind her beloved sister-in-law, Evelyn Hall, and many dear nieces and nephews.

Betty used her many gifts and talents in service to others, such as sewing, and even crafted her daughter's wedding gown. Her abilities with a knitting/crochet needle were well known. No newborn baby she knew came into the world without a baby blanket, knit cap, and booties. She also remembered everyone she knew with greeting cards. Whatever the occasion, you could always be sure to receive a card from her. Above all, she was faithful in her devotion to God through daily bible reading and prayer. We will miss her prayers (and her pies, of course)!

In 2002, Betty wrote a memoir for her children. Here is what she said at the end of her story, "I love you all so very much and my prayer is that God will bless each of you always, as He has blessed me. Thank you for all the love and support you have given Dad and me through the years. We are forever grateful. Always stay close and love each other. Family is so important."

We love you, Mom!

Psalm 116:15, "The death of His holy ones is of great worth in the eyes of the Lord."

Our family would like to thank Peace Health Hospice and Cascade Inn Assisted Living for taking such good care of mom. Yours is much more than a job, but a gift, as you support families who are navigating through a difficult time.

Funeral services will be announced at a later date.
