Brandon Wayne Rice, (41) of Catonsville, MD, passed away suddenly on September 16, 2025. Brandon was born on May 2, 1984. He is survived by his parents Stephen and Lynne Rice (Martinsburg, WV); his beloved younger siblings Ethan Rice and Stephanie Rice (Catonsville, MD); his devoted aunts and uncles Lisa Hopkins and David Hopkins (Baltimore, MD), Brian and Bonnie Rice (Greencastle, PA) and Cynthia Hall; his cousins Travis Rice, Nicole Hudson, Sarah Yocum, and Emily Keller; and his grandmother, Margaret Rice.

Brandon was predeceased by his younger brother, Nicholas Rice in 1991, as well as his grandparents Lester Hopkins, Vivian and Robert Kramer, Harvey Rice, and many other loved ones.

Brandon attended elementary and middle school in Ellicott City and was a graduate of Mount Saint Joseph High School in Baltimore and the University of Maryland Baltimore County.

Brandon was a hard-working and well-liked employee of Safeway for over 23 years in many capacities. For several years, Brandon held a part time job at Cosmic Comix during high school and college, which fed his comic book craze.

Brandon was very interested in martial arts, earning his junior black belt when he was in the 5th grade, receiving his adult black belt, and continuing to practice on his own. Brandon was already an avid comic book collector and his time at Cosmic Comix only increased that interest. Most people would be astounded at his collection. His other interests were movies and spending time at the beach or anywhere else with family and friends.

Brandon was known for his generous spirit and compassionate heart. He was a giver in every sense of the word, either by lending a hand or money. His ability to care deeply for others was one of his greatest gifts and he will forever be remembered as a hero to those who knew him best.

He will be missed beyond measure, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.

A funeral service will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church, located at 9120 Frederick Road, Ellicott City, MD on Monday, October 13, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. Visitation before the service will start at 10:30 A.M. Interment will be at St. John's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice in Brandon's name.
