Brenda Rose "B" Buckman, age 69, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025, in Auburn, California. Born on July 27, 1956, in Orange, New Jersey, Brenda brought light and joy to the lives of all who knew her.

Brenda was born with Down syndrome at a time when expectations for children with special needs were often limited. Life expectancy was typically short. Yet she defied every prediction. Over the years, three different doctors forecasted that she would not live long due to her condition—but Brenda outlived them all. Her resilience was matched only by her warmth and gentle spirit.

A kind and caring soul, Brenda had a heart full of love and a smile that could brighten any room. She never harbored ill will and was known for her pleasant demeanor and joyful presence. She found great happiness in being around others and sharing simple pleasures with those she loved.

Brenda thrived in the supportive environment of various workshops tailored to individuals with special needs. These spaces allowed her to engage in meaningful tasks while enjoying the camaraderie of friends and mentors. Her days were filled with purpose and connection—two things she cherished deeply.

Television reruns of Golden Girls and Wonder Woman brought Brenda endless delight. She would watch them with rapt attention, often laughing along as if seeing them for the first time. Her love for these shows reflected her appreciation for kindred women and good humor.

As she grew older, Brenda developed what her family affectionately called "selective hearing." While her hearing did decline over time, she also learned how to use it to her advantage. If someone offered her a cup of tea or another small treat, she would perk up instantly with an enthusiastic "Hey, that's a good idea!" But if asked to do something less appealing? She'd simply continue focusing on whatever she was doing—blissfully unaware.

Brenda also loved playing card games like Concentration and Old Maid—though each game came with its own unique set of "Brenda's rules." These playful variations added charm to every match and ensured that laughter was always part of the experience.

She is lovingly remembered by her brother Guy Kevin Buckman and his wife Angelina; her sister Alyson Rowena Buckman Cinelli and brother-in-law Albert Cinelli; nephew Jason Buckman and his wife Mallery Remner Buckman; nephew Benjamin Cinelli; niece Samantha Cinelli; grand-niece Brooke Buckman; grand-nephew William Buckman; and grand-niece Abigail Buckman.

Brenda now joins in rest her beloved parents Charles Buckman and Era Rowena Buckman; her brother Charles Brett Buckman; and sister Deborah Brooke Buckman.

Her family takes comfort in knowing that Brenda lived a full life surrounded by love—and that she gave so much joy in return. Her memory will forever be cherished by those fortunate enough to have shared in her journey.

May Brenda's gentle spirit continue to inspire kindness, laughter, and compassion in all who remember her. A Funeral will be held on November 12, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at New Auburn Cemetery 1040 Collins Dr
