Brittney Nicole Clifton passed away peacefully at home on October 19, 2025, after a courageous life-long battle with NF2 (Neurofibromatosis Type 2, brain & spinal cord tumors). She was surrounded by her loving family and cherished fur babies. Brittney was 34 years old.

Born on April 18, 1991, in Littleton, Colorado, Brittney brought light and laughter to everyone she met. A proud graduate of JSerra Catholic High School in San Juan Capistrano, CA (Class of 2009), she went on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (Cum Laude) from Seattle University in 2013.

Brittney's lifelong dream was to become a pediatric nurse — a calling she pursued with deep compassion and grace. During her nursing career, she served at Swedish Hospital and six years at Seattle Children's Hospital as a pediatric oncology nurse. Her patients and their families often remarked on her unique empathy and intuition; Brittney had a remarkable gift for understanding what others needed, often answering questions before they were even asked. She shared compassion and relatability, always putting the needs of her young patients first, while living her vocation with love and humility.

Throughout her life, Brittney endured countless medical treatments and numerous surgeries. Yet she showed the ultimate perseverance, overcoming these obstacles to graduate from nursing school and fulfill her God-given purpose. Her strength and determination inspired everyone who knew her. As Philippians 4:13 reminds us, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Brittney lived this truth daily, finding strength and peace in her unwavering faith.

Beyond her professional dedication, Brittney was an adventurer at heart. She loved exploring the world with her family, traveling to more than 40 countries and setting foot on every continent except Antarctica and Africa. Whether exploring new cities, trying new foods, or connecting with people from different cultures, Brittney approached the world with wonder, courage, and joy.

Brittney is preceded in death by her Grandmother, Judy (Stahl) Clifton, and Grandfather Larry Robins. She is lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her parents, David Scott and Deborah (Lousberg) Clifton; her brother Blake Clifton, sister-in-law Hannah, and niece Riley; her grandparents Eleen Gray, Larry and Dwanna Lousberg, and Jerry Clifton; as well as loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends whose lives she touched profoundly.

Brittney's faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ guided her throughout her life. No matter how challenging or painful her condition became, she never complained or asked, "Why me?" Instead, she always put others before herself. Brittney's life reminds us that there is so much to thank God for and to be happy about, even while going through the roughest of times. Brittney's courage, strength, compassion, sense of humor, and beautiful smile will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.

A celebration of Brittney's life will be held next Spring, to honor her spirit, her courage, and her immense kindness. Our world is a better place because of Brittney.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Brittney's honor to UCLA NF2 Research at http://giving.ucla.edu/Nghiemphu to continue the fight against the disease she so bravely faced.
