Bruce Carlton Wardlaw, age 70, passed away on November 4, 2025, in Lilburn, Georgia. Born on July 23, 1955, in Marietta, Georgia, Bruce lived a life marked by deep devotion to family, a passion for sports and modeling, and a lasting impact on his community.

Bruce is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Cheryl Frederickson Wardlaw. Their enduring partnership was a testament to love and commitment. Though they experienced the profound loss of their children Catherine Elizabeth and Christopher Colin Wardlaw, and his chosen daughter Greta Michaels, Bruce’s heart remained open and full through the bonds he shared with extended family and friends.

He held close ties with his in-laws: Jim and Lynda and their children Eric, Laura, and Carrie; great nieces and nephew Emily, Abby, Sophie, Camdyn, Gracie, and Michael; Mark and Laura and their daughters Patricia and Christina; Karen and Scott and their daughters Erin and Samantha. His cousins William, Debbie, and Deanne were also dear to him. Bruce also cherished his relationship with Tony—his son by choice—who held a special place in his heart.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, Bruce found joy in cheering for hockey, Georgia football, and Braves baseball. Known affectionately throughout the Lilburn community as “Coach Bruce,” he dedicated countless hours to coaching youth sports. His ability to connect with children was one of his most treasured qualities. He listened intently to their stories, celebrated their interests wholeheartedly, and made each child feel seen and valued.

Bruce was also a gifted modeler with a particular enthusiasm for trains. His attention to detail brought miniature worlds to life—a reflection of the care he gave to everything he did.

Above all else, Bruce’s greatest joy came from being surrounded by family. Whether gathered for holidays or everyday moments, he found happiness in the laughter of children and the warmth of shared stories. His presence brought comfort and joy to those around him.

A memorial service is being planned for a future date for the immediate family.

May Bruce Wardlaw’s memory bring peace to those who knew him and continue to inspire kindness within the community he so deeply touched.
