Camille (Cami) Alise Panchesson

Our Cami passed away peacefully on December 4, 2024. She was 45 years old.

Cami was born on June 7, 1979 in Grass Valley, California, and moved to Sacramento at age 3. She attended primary and middle school at Tenaya Elementary in Groveland, CA, before moving back to Grass Valley to attend Nevada Union High School, where she graduated in 1998.

Cami loved traveling and was a born adventurer. After high school, she and friend Mila went on a 9-country tour of Europe. She enjoyed discovering new towns, visiting art museums, and trying out pubs and restaurants. Cami loved road trips, especially taking backroads and unknown routes. Cami was an excellent swimmer and traveled to Mexico, Hawaii, and all over California to scuba dive and swim. Her love of the ocean included the creatures within it, and she surrounded herself with items from or reminiscent of the sea.

Before choosing a career as a surgical technologist, Cami worked in department stores and most enjoyed a job she had at Borders, as she was an avid reader. Cami read any genre or style, and particularly enjoyed horror, metaphysical, fantasy and non-fiction writing. Cami was remarkably intelligent, generous, and had a wonderful sense of humor. Cami was also a gifted artist and created beautiful paintings and drawings for friends and family. She loved music, from pop to opera, and had a lovely singing voice.

Cami is survived by her parents Cindy (Pat) Maloney and Wayne (Anne) Panchesson, beloved siblings Hillary Panchesson and Jim Julian, step siblings Brianne Rose and Ryan Maloney, uncle Craig (Nancy) Sarmento and cousins Sara, Vaughn, Holly and Zaria Sarmento. Cami was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Ed and Bunny Sarmento and Pete and Marie Panchesson.
