Charles William "Hoppie" Hopkins, age 93, of Durant, FL, passed away on October 24, 2025. Born on October 4, 1932, he dedicated his life to his family, faith, and service.
A devoted Christian, Charles was an active member of the Willow Oak Church of God, where he cherished singing hymns and participating in church activities. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, providing him comfort and a community of support.
Charles proudly served in the United States Navy from 1950 to 1953, where he developed a strong sense of duty and camaraderie.
Beyond his military and religious commitments, Charles was known for his love of golfing, singing Christian hymns, and his unwavering support for the Florida Gators. His hobbies brought him great joy and allowed him to connect with others over shared passions.
Charles was a beloved husband to Bonnie Hopkins and a loving father to Charles J. (Marie) Foreman, Debbie (the late Jack) Rozier, Charlene Frazier, Charles W. (Kellie) Hopkins Jr., James (the late Nita) Hopkins, David (Chrissy) Hopkins, Cathy (partner Robert Shields) Massaro, Stephanie (Scott) Brody, and Ida (Gregg) Delk. He was also a cherished grandfather to nineteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren, with another on the way. His legacy of love and guidance will live on through his extensive family.
A celebration of life will be held on November 8th at 11 AM at Willow Oak Church of God, located at 4087 FL-60, Mulberry, FL 33860. In remembrance of Charles, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to his widow, Bonnie Hopkins, at PO Box 561, Durant, FL 33530. These contributions will honor his memory and support the family he dearly loved.
Charles's life was marked by his commitment to his family, his faith, and his country. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, remembered always as a friend to all and loved by many.
