In Loving Memory of Charlotte Ann Pickel Wilson

December 2, 1944 – October 24, 2025

Charlotte Ann Pickel Wilson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and faithful servant of Christ, entered her heavenly home on October 24, 2025, surrounded by love and peace.

Born on December 2, 1944, in Knoxville, Tennessee, Charlotte was the cherished daughter of Alford and Cleo Rector Pickel. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Jack Pickel, and many dear aunts and uncles who surely greeted her with open arms in glory.

Charlotte’s life was a reflection of devotion, love, and perseverance. On September 27, 1962, she married the love of her life, Berry Joe Wilson.

She is lovingly survived by her husband, Berry Joe; her two sons, Mark Warren Wilson of Austin, Texas, and Darrin Kaline Wilson of Huffman, Texas; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann Thomas and husband Luke Thomas of Huffman, and Graham Christian Wilson of Huffman. Her legacy continues through her adored great-grandchildren — Fisher Reid, Finley Elizabeth, and Ford Ryan Thomas — who brought her endless joy and pride.

A long-time member of Community Baptist Church, Charlotte lived out her faith with quiet strength and steadfast grace. Her love for the Lord was evident in her kindness, generosity, and the way she cared deeply for others.

Charlotte served as a dedicated Board Member of Birthright Humble, a nonprofit organization offering love, support, and friendship to women who are or may be pregnant. Her heart for helping others was matched only by her drive and determination to achieve her dreams.

While raising her children, Charlotte continued her education, attending college and later opening her own successful business — Through her hard work and commitment to excellence, she earned recognition as an Accredited Tax Preparer, Accredited Tax Advisor, and Enrolled Agent (EA), and she was also proud to hold the title of Certified Financial Planner, a testament to her integrity, knowledge, and dedication to helping others manage their finances with wisdom and care. Charlotte owned and operated Lake Houston Tax and Bookkeeping, serving her community with honesty and dedication. Her clients and friends will remember her as a woman of integrity who treated everyone like family.

Outside of her professional life, Charlotte was known for her warmth, kindness, and remarkable talent in the kitchen. Although she was already an exceptional cook, she pursued her passion even further by attending cooking school at night — and later, baking school — after long days of work. Her love for creating delicious dishes and beautiful cakes brought joy to countless family members, friends, and community members. Many people sought her out to bake specialty cakes for their most meaningful celebrations, each one made with love and artistry.

She loved the beauty of her Tennessee roots and treasured her visits “back home,” especially in the fall when the Great Smoky Mountains were dressed in autumn color. She found joy in the little things — a crisp mountain breeze, a new kitchen gadget, or a cherished Hallmark Keepsake Ornament to add to her beloved Christmas collection.

Charlotte’s heart was kind, her spirit generous, and her love for her family immeasurable. She gave selflessly, always putting others before herself, and her presence brought comfort and calm to everyone who knew her.

Most importantly, Charlotte was a devoted follower of Christ. Though her earthly journey has come to a close, we take comfort in knowing she is now in the presence of her Savior — healed, whole, and surrounded by eternal peace. We rejoice in the promise that one day, we will be reunited with her again in Heaven.

Charlotte’s life was a beautiful testimony of faith, love, and service — a life well lived and deeply loved.
