Chris J. Warr

Chris J. Warr, 65, passed away peacefully at his home in Nampa, Idaho, on October 10, 2025, with his wife, Tammy, by his side.
Chris was born on February 11, 1960, in Burley, Idaho, to Gary E. and Elaine Johnson Warr. He was the second of three children.
A 1978 graduate of Meridian High School, Chris had a wonderful childhood filled with friends, opportunities, and adventures. As a young man, he enjoyed sports such as skiing, racquetball, and basketball. As an older man, he loved watching games—especially cheering for BYU and supporting his children from the sidelines.
After high school, Chris began his studies at Brigham Young University in Provo. He then served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Michigan East Lansing Mission. He then returned to BYU and earned a bachelor’s degree in finance. Over the course of his career, Chris worked in retail management for several national companies, including Flying J, AM-PM, Mervyn’s, Office Depot, and Love’s.
In 1982, Chris married Mariellen Peterson of Boise, and together they welcomed four children. In 2006, after spending 15 years in Bakersfield, California, Chris returned to Idaho, where he established Blinds by Design Window Treatments.
In 2007, Chris married Tammy Hinck Waltman of Nampa, who became the love of his life. They spent the next 18 years together, traveling around the world, and surviving countless medical adventures with faith and love. In 2009, they welcomed her baby granddaughter, Paige, into their home and were blessed to adopt her as their own.
Chris’s faith in Jesus Christ and membership in the church shaped his life. He was optimistic, easy-going, and always ready with a story or smile. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, positivity, and perseverance. Go Cougs!
He is survived by his wife, Tammy; adopted daughter Paige Warr; children Emily (Spencer) Patterson, Mason Warr, Kyle (Christiana) Warr, Blake Warr; step-daughter Amanda (Nick) Ackerland; sisters Wendy (Mark) Wilson and Corky (Mike) Call; 15 grandchildren; 2 great-grandsons; and a whole lot of people who will miss his rosy cheeks.
Services
Visitation: Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 88 S. Happy Valley Rd, Nampa, Idaho.
Funeral: Friday, October 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the same location, with visitation from 10:00–10:50 a.m. prior to the service.
