Dana C Murnane

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Dana C. Murnane on November 11, 2025, at the age of 79. She passed away at her home in Florida, surrounded by her loved ones. She was a testament of love and laughter in the lives of all who knew her.

Born in Staten Island, NY on September 15, 1946, Dana was the cherished daughter of the late Cosmo and Margie LaForgia. She was the devoted wife of William P. Murnane for 56 years, a loving mother to Christine Murnane Smith and Dana E. Murnane, and an amazing and unforgettable Mimi to Emma, Matthew and Courney Smith.

Dana lived a life rich in kindness and compassion. She had a unique ability to make everyone feel seen and valued, often with a warm smile or a comforting word. Her home was a place of hospitality, filled with love, an abundance of food and the sound of laughter. She found joy in the simple things: traveling, reading a good book, visiting a casino and watching her grandchildren play the sports they loved.

Her greatest legacy, however, is the love she poured into her family. She taught us the importance of integrity, kindness, and the power of unconditional love. We will forever cherish our memories with her.

Dana is survived by her husband William; children Christine and Dana; her grandchildren Emma, Matthew and Courtney; her brother, John LaForgia; and an amazing circle of friends and extended family.

While our hearts are heavy with grief, we take comfort in knowing that her spirit will live on in the countless lives she touched. She will be deeply missed, but the love she shared will live on forever.

A private memorial service will be held in Port St. Lucie, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Dana’s honor to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or any Humane Society of your choice.
