Danny Wayne Black

Danny Wayne Black, 77, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, passed away peacefully on 9/9/25. Born on 12/28/47 in Honolulu, Hawaii, he was a devoted Christian who loved Christ and His church, and had a passion for photography.

He helped found Bodyboarders Hawaii, dedicating his talent to capturing and promoting the sport through striking photos of bodyboarders in action, enriching Hawaii’s surfing community.

Danny is survived by his children, Sonya Hao, Michele (Jason) Amoy, Rhonda Black, Donovan (Laverne) Black, James (Rebecca) Black, Colin Black, his sisters, Patricia (Saby Matsushita) Keau, Lani (Willie) Sibayan, Elizabeth Takashima, his sister-in-law, Ululani Zuttermeister-Black, 13 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Elizabeth Black, his brothers, Robert Keliiaa, William Black, James Patrick Black, and his brother-in-law, Dexter Takashima.

A Memorial Service will be held on October 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Grace Fellowship Hawaii 94-1323 Waipio Uka Street. Visitation from 9:40 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. A Celebration of Life will be held on October 19, 2025, at 11:00 AM at One'ula Beach Park (Hau Bush) 91-295 Papipi Road.

Celebration of Life to include:
- Open mic eulogies, for anyone that would like to share thoughts or memories of Danny.
- Open paddle out to anyone who would like to join in scattering of ashes and flowers.
- Food provided. Please bring your own chairs and drinks.
