Darla Cay Newell

Darla C. Newell, 57, of Holly Springs, North Carolina, passed away suddenly on September 24, 2025. She was born in Panama City, Florida, on January 3, 1968.

Darla spent her early years in Boca Raton, Florida, before moving to Holly Springs, where she lived with her mother, Ann Tibbets Newell, and her brother and best friend, Christopher Alan Newell, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her father, Darryl C. Newell, and her Griffon canine companions, Winston and Izzy.

She is survived by her daughter, Catherine Ann Newell, of Holly Springs; her brother, Charles K. Newell, and his family in Tallahassee, Florida; and her beloved Griffon, Lenny, her canine best friend.

Darla will be remembered for her strength, beauty, kind spirit, and her ability to uplift those around her. No matter the challenges she faced, she always greeted others with warmth, encouragement, and a kind word or compliment.

A woman of faith, she was eagerly anticipating her baptism at Hope Community Church in Apex. Her light, positivity, and compassion will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
