David Jackson, a longtime resident of Napa, California, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025, at the age of 79.
Born on September 22, 1946, David lived his life with quiet strength, deep devotion to his family, and an unwavering work ethic. He dedicated much of his career to Harold Smith & Son, where he worked until his retirement in 2002. Never one to stay idle, David went on to serve several summers with CAL FIRE as a water tender driver, proudly supporting wildfire response efforts across California.
In retirement, David found great joy in spending time with his grandchildren and pursuing his passion for woodworking. A skilled craftsman, he could often be found in his workshop — his happy place — building furniture, toys, and countless projects that combined both precision and heart.
David was a loving father to Mark Jackson and Tasha Jackson, and a proud grandfather to Amelia, Emilio, and Evelyn. He is also survived by his devoted sisters, Winona Siedentopf and Benni Jo Shuker, who shared in many of his life's memories and milestones.
He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Donna Jackson, and by his parents, Benjamin and Valda Jackson.
Known for his steady presence, kind heart, and deep sense of responsibility, David touched the lives of many through his generosity and unwavering support. He also had a sharp wit and a sense of humor that could lighten any moment. Whether it was a helping hand, a thoughtful project, or a well-timed joke, David gave freely and without fanfare.
He leaves behind a life well lived and deeply valued by those who knew him.
A private family gathering will be held in his honor.
