David R Roberts

Dave was a sailor, painter, musician, entrepreneur, metal spinner, machinist, and pirate at heart. He loved art, music, ice cream, and being on the water, where he truly belonged. Famous for his witty one-liners, his potato pancakes, and his origami rings folded out of dollar bills, he was known to many as "Captain Easy."

An artist at work, at home, and on the lake, Dave leaves behind so many who adored him. He is survived by the anchor of his life, his devoted wife of 44 years, Mara Roberts (Blaubriks), and his incredibly creative daughter Tatiana Roberts, and his beloved sister Beverly (Flippo). Dave is remembered with love by his many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews, as well as his family and friends who will miss him. He is preceded in passing by his brothers George and James as well as his sisters Marylin and Virginia.

Dave leaves behind an enormous group of family and friends who will miss his laugh, his cheeky wink, the sound of his guitar, and the sight of him with wind-blown hair on a boat on Lake Erie. The world feels a little less bright and a lot less funny without Daddy Dave, Uncle Dave, and Captain Easy, but the old pirates' laugh, humor, and love will live forever in our memories and in our hearts.

Rest easy Capt Dave, may you forevermore have fair winds and following seas.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 26th, from 1:00–5:00 p.m. at Edgewater Yacht Club, 6700 Cleveland Memorial Shoreway, Cleveland, OH 44102.
