David A White

It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of David A. White, a devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend, who left us on October 22, 2025, in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Born in Reading, PA on February 27, 1971, David was the beloved son of Donna (McCardle) White and John White Sr. He will be forever cherished and deeply missed by his siblings, Patti Pieja (Joseph), Marjie Mitchell, Audrey Dowdin (Rick), John White Jr. (Tracy), and Heidi Oates. David's legacy also lives on through his nine nieces and nephews: Tiffany, Laura, Kyle, Courtney, Mallory, Caitlin, Sydney, Skylar, and Elizabeth, as well as seven great-nieces and nephews, whom he loved to tease and make laugh.

David was a proud graduate of the Wilson High School Class of 1989. He also attended Lock Haven University and was in the TKE Fraternity. He formed many lifelong friendships with these classmates. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Marines and started his career in the automotive industry in Smyrna, GA.

¨Whitey¨ loved all Philadelphia Sports, especially the Eagles. He also enjoyed attending concerts, playing cards and games, and telling stories and jokes. He was known for his infectious laugh and vibrant personality.

David also faced challenges in his life, and after struggling with debilitating health issues, depression, and untreated alcoholism, he died by suicide on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. As a family, we have chosen to be open about his passing in the hope that his story might help someone else who is facing similar pain. If you or someone you know is struggling, please know that help is out there and you are not alone.

We will forever remember David for his big laugh, his loyalty, his stories, and the joy he brought to so many. His spirit will live on in the love of his family and friends, and in every Eagles game watched with a smile and a cheer to “Whitey.”

We invite family and friends to join us in celebrating David´s life on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Mohnton Fire Company Social Quarters, 100 E. Summit St. Mohnton, PA from 1 to 4.
