Hudson, NH - Deborah Ann Dogul (née Ciesla), a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose radiant spirit touched all who knew her, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025, after a courageous battle with metastatic melanoma. She was surrounded by the love of her family and leaves behind a legacy of kindness, optimism, and generosity that will forever shine in the hearts of those she loved.
Born in Warwick, Rhode Island, Debi was the beloved daughter of the late Thaddeus “Ted” Ciesla and Janice Ciesla (née Smith). She graduated from Coventry High School in 1971 and soon after embarked on an adventurous chapter of her life, moving to St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, where she worked at Little Switzerland, a renowned luxury jewelry boutique. There, she developed her refined eye for beauty and her natural gift for connecting with people from all walks of life.
Upon returning to Rhode Island, Debi pursued higher education and earned her bachelor’s degree in business from Rhode Island College in 1984. Following graduation, she began a successful career as a clothing buyer for Filene’s Basement at their corporate headquarters in Wellesley, Massachusetts. Her keen sense of style and business acumen earned her respect in the corporate world, but her heart eventually led her down a more personal path.
Debi made the heartfelt decision to devote herself to raising her daughter, Amanda, a role she cherished above all others. During this time, she opened a home childcare center, combining her entrepreneurial drive with her nurturing spirit. This work deepened her passion for supporting children’s growth and education, a passion she carried forward when she later joined Alvirne High School in Hudson, New Hampshire. There, she collaborated with colleagues to design curriculum and programming for students with disabilities, particularly those with autism. Debi’s empathy, creativity, and unwavering belief in every student’s potential made her a beloved presence in the school community.
Beyond her professional life, Debi was a lover of all living things—especially animals; her two cats, Chewy and Sydney, will miss her tremendously. She also loved summers in Quebec with her husband. Debi was a dedicated New England Patriots fan.
A sun-seeker at heart, Debi found her joy near ocean beaches, where she could feel the warmth of the sun and the rhythm of the waves. She was also an exceptional cook, known for her delicious dishes often inspired by her Polish heritage. Family and friends alike will fondly remember her gatherings filled with laughter, comfort, and the irresistible aroma of her warm and welcoming kitchen.
Debi’s greatest joy came from her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, James Dogul; her cherished daughter, Amanda Marsden, and son-in-law, Kyle Marsden; and her adored grandchildren, Evelyn June and Aidan Henry Marsden, who were the lights of her life. She also leaves behind her loving siblings Meredith Pond, Vanessa Ciesla, and Eric Ciesla, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Debi will be remembered for her raucous laugh, her keen ability to find joy in any situation, and her deep compassion for others. Her optimism renewed people’s faith in humanity, and her acts of kindness left lasting impressions on countless lives. Above all, Deb was a beacon of positivity, radiating warmth and joy wherever she went.
Her family finds comfort in knowing that her spirit lives on in every act of kindness, every burst of laughter, and every sunbeam that dances across the rolling waves she so loved.
