DeLilah Ezzell Allsbrook (11/6/1938 — 9/20/2025)

DeLilah Ezzell Allsbrook (86) of Mountain Brook, Alabama, peacefully joined her husband Robert Clark Allsbrook (Bob) in eternal rest on September 20, 2025. She was the proud mother of Matthew Clark (d. 1969), Robert Colby (Anna DePalo) and Courtney Elizabeth (Douglas Reed); and adoring grandmother of four grandchildren: Robert Nicholas DePalo Allsbrook, Olivia Isabella DePalo Allsbrook, Lilah Catherine Reed, and Sarah Elizabeth Reed.

DeLilah was born in Dothan, Alabama, and grew up in Headland and Abbeville, Alabama. She was the daughter of Louie Martin and Ida Pearl Ezzell. She completed her Nursing Diploma (RN) at Georgia Baptist College of Nursing, her BSN from The University of Alabama, and her MN from Emory University. She met her husband Bob, the love of her life, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Their 58-year marriage began on November 27, 1964 and lasted until his death in 2022.

In addition to nursing, DeLilah was active throughout her life in the churches she attended, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, children's choir director, and handbell player. She was always an active volunteer in her children's education and activities, serving as the PTA President at Providence Day School in Charlotte, North Carolina, and volunteering in Mountain Brook City Schools in Birmingham, Alabama. While her children attended the University of Alabama, DeLilah was a member of the XXXI, UA's Premier Women's Honorary, the Leadership Board for the UA College of Arts & Sciences, and the UA Parents Association.

DeLilah will be remembered by those who knew and loved her for her strong spirit, nurturing personality, compassionate warmth, and love for her family, close friends, and God.

A celebration of Bob and DeLilah's lives will be held in Abbeville later this fall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made in DeLilah's honor to charitable organizations dedicated to supporting and nurturing children.
