Donald Hampton

Donald "Don" William Hampton, age 66, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 6, 1959, Don lived a life marked by deep devotion to his loved ones and an enduring zest for life.

Don was the beloved husband of Michelle Hampton, with whom he shared a life full of love. He was a devoted father to his daughters, Sarah King (and her husband David) and Emily Hampton. His role as “Grandpa Turtle” brought him immense joy, especially in the time he spent with his cherished grandchildren: Henry, Eloise, and Vivian King.

He is also remembered by his brother Robert Hampton, and his sister Marilou Smith (and her husband Dave), sisters-in-law Debbie Shemirani (and her husband Moh) & Janice Duennes, and his nieces and nephews. Don now joins in rest his parents, Mary and Ralph Hampton, his sister Jan Flick, and his brother Mark Hampton.

Known for his love of life, Don embraced every moment with warmth and enthusiasm. He found happiness in music—never one to pass up a concert—and enjoyed playing racquetball, relaxing by the fire, and spending time with those he held dear. His friendships were many and meaningful; he was a dear friend to countless people whose lives were brightened by his presence.

Over the past eight years, Don faced significant health challenges with remarkable courage and grace. He never complained and remained steadfastly positive throughout it all—a testament to his strength of spirit and unwavering optimism.

A celebration of Don’s life will be held in Cincinnati on Friday, October 17th. A visitation will be held at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Hyde Park (2845 Erie Avenue) followed by a Funeral Mass beginning at 11:00 AM.
