Donald Wayne Wielenga

Donald Wielenga of Barryton, MI passed away on October 16, 2025 in Grand Rapids, MI. He left his earthly home the same way he entered it, with faith and family. He was born in Mt. Pleasant, MI to Maynard (Mike) and Arline (DeVries) Wielenga. Raised in Mt. Pleasant, MI and Winter Haven, FL, he eventually settled in Muskegon, MI to raise his family. His work as a surveyor often took him on the road, yet he found joy in exploring new places and the beauty he found in nature.

Don was an artist at heart. . . always sketching, writing and taking photos. Through his passion for photography, he shared his love of nature and captured his unique vision of the world around him. His unwavering faith, the love of his fur kids, George and Remi and the solitude of his lakeside home provided joy and comfort in the final years of his life. Don will be remembered for his smile, devoted friendships and quiet calmness. He is at peace.

Don is survived by his mother, Arline Wielenga of Winter Haven, FL; his son, Matthew Wielenga of Muskegon, MI; sister, Marie Lemke of Grand Rapids, MI; brother, Dan (Karen) Wielenga of Winter Haven, FL; brother, David Wielenga of Winter Haven, FL; former spouses, Lauren Pillote of Mt. Pleasant, MI and Deborah Wielenga of Harrison, MI, and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. He was followed shortly afterward in death by his sister, Marcia (Gary) Chernick, of Davenport, FL, and preceded in death by his father Maynard (Mike) Wielenga of Winter Haven, FL.
