Dorothy Mae Zednik John (née Slepicka), born on September 8, 1930, in Wilber, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2025, in Cedar Park, Texas. She was 95 years old.

Dorothy's life spanned nearly a century of profound change and enduring family bonds. Born in the heartland of America, she carried with her the values of resilience and dedication throughout her life. Late in life her journey took her from Omaha, Nebraska to Cedar Park, Texas, where she spent her final years surrounded by loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Eugene Vern Zednik and Lloyd Charles John and her brother Norman Slepicka.

Dorothy is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Pamela Caswell and husband, Paul Jeffrey Caswell, and her son, Gary Zednik and wife, Debra Zednik, from her first marriage, and her children from her second marriage, Cydney Broshears, Lloyd Charles John II and Patricia Thomas. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren—Stephanie Schuckers, Amanda Venton, Rebecca Monroe, and Paul Eugene Caswell—and great-grandchildren: Daniel Schuckers, Christopher Schuckers, Gabriella Schuckers, Adam Venton, Kate Venton, Jacob Monroe, Clara Monroe, Eli Monroe, Paul Beckett Caswell, and Miles Caswell.

Her long life was marked by the joy of watching multiple generations grow and thrive. Dorothy's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Dorothy will be remembered and laid to rest next to her husband, Eugene Zednik, at a graveside ceremony in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery located at 2300 S. 78th St. in Omaha at 11:00 AM on November 3rd, 2025.
