Dwayne Michael Brue, 65, passed away on October 23, 2025, in Kenner, Louisianan of a heart attack. Born on August 27, 1960, in Oxnard, California, Dwayne lived a life enriched by faith, curiosity, and generosity. His passing from a heart attack marked the end of a journey filled with meaningful connections and joyful pursuits.

Dwayne's early education at Jefferson Academy and St. Charles Borromeo High School laid the foundation for his lifelong love of learning. He later attended the University of New Orleans (UNO), where he continued to expand his intellectual horizons—a passion that remained central throughout his life.

A devout Catholic Christian, Dwayne's faith was a guiding force in all he did. His spiritual devotion shaped his worldview and inspired those around him through acts of compassion and kindness. Even in death, Dwayne continued to give selflessly as an organ donor.

Dwayne found joy in many interests that reflected both his intellect and his vibrant personality. He had a deep appreciation for classic films and was widely regarded among friends and family as an expert on Mardi Gras history—two subjects he loved to discuss with enthusiasm. Whether attending live music events or exploring local fairs, Dwayne embraced Louisiana's rich culture with open arms and an infectious spirit.

He is lovingly remembered by his brother Kyle Brue; Glenda; Holly; Miranda of California; brother-in-law and caregiver Steve Sicard; Mignon Munoz (Ray); Gabrielle Barnes (Matt); close friend and caregiver Gail Guerrieri; and Edward and Amy Sicard (grandparents). He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Beverly Brue, as well as his sister Jeannine Brue Sicard.

Those who knew Dwayne will remember him as a kind-hearted soul whose generosity and spirituality left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on November 15, 2025, at St. Catherine of Sienna Church, 105 Bonnabel Blvd., beginning at 12:30 PM with Mass at 1:00 PM.

May his memory bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.
