1948 - 2025

Send Flowers Plant A Tree
We gather today to remember and celebrate the life of our Uncle Eddie, our brother, our friend. Eddie was born on December 16, 1948, and after a full life filled with laughter and love, he left us on September 29, 2025.

Anyone who knew Eddie will remember his sense of humor. He always had a joke ready sometimes corny, sometimes sharp, but always delivered with that mischievous smile of his. And of course, we will all remember the way he’d call and greet you with that loud, unmistakable “HELLO!”

Eddie lived a life full of love and resilience. He graduated college, and later married his beloved wife, Ida Scott. Together they shared many years of marriage, joy, and family. Their love brought their son, Edward Jr. aka Little Eddie into the world. Though Eddie endured the heartbreak of losing both his wife Ida and their son, his love for them never faded. Their memory stayed alive in his stories, his humor, and his heart.

He was predeceased by his wife Ida, his son Little Eddie, his brother James Scott, Brother John Lee Scott, father Johnny Scott and his mother, Izena Townsend. Today, he is reunited with them in peace.

Eddie leaves behind his Son Tyrone Toney, his little sister, Barbara Reid, his brother-in-law Curtis Reid, his nieces and nephews, his best friend Leo and many close friends who cherished him deeply. His family was his anchor, and he loved them deeply.

What stands out most when we remember Uncle Eddie is how much joy he brought to others. Like that time he was driving us around and we were holding on for dear life and so were the drivers on the road. His laughter will echo in our memories, his jokes will continue to be told at family gatherings, and his voice—especially that “HELLO” will stay with us forever.

As we say goodbye, let us not focus on the pain of his passing but on the legacy of humor, resilience, and love he leaves behind. Uncle Eddie taught us that even in difficult times, there’s room for laughter. That’s the gift he gave us, and it’s one we will carry forever.

Rest easy, Uncle Eddie. You will be missed, but you will never be forgotten.

The Truth:
Unfortunately, our Uncle did not die peacefully in a hospice. He died in agony and pain. It’s unfortunate he married such a monster who did everything in her power to kill him.

We will miss you deeply and love you always. No one deserves the cruelty you endured from her in life or even in death. She threw you away, and I want everyone to know she wouldn’t even let your family say a final goodbye.

Please be at peace now, Uncle Eddie. You are finally free, and you will always be loved.
