Edward Francis Tilton passed away peacefully at home on November 14, 2025, in Waterford, Michigan at the age of 80. Born on October 21, 1945, in Detroit, he lived a life defined by service to his country, devotion to his family, and a deep love for sports and community.
After proudly serving in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, Edward graduated from Wayne State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business & Marketing. His military service and academic accomplishments led to his career as an Automotive Sales Engineer.
Ed was a kind and loving man whose presence left a memorable mark on those fortunate enough to know him. He was deeply committed to his family and found great joy in spending time with them. Whether cheering from the sidelines at a hockey, football or soccer game or enjoying a round of golf on a sunny afternoon, Ed approached life with enthusiasm, humor, and a generous spirit.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Pamela; daughters Candace Sereno and Cynthia Christian; son-in-law Roger Christian; grandchildren Austin Sereno, his wife Chelsea, and their daughter Olivia; Chase Sereno, Parker Sereno, Trey Christian, and Ryan Christian. He is also survived by his sisters Janet Altmann and Terry Soltys, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who brought great joy to his life.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Claire and Francis Tilton; his brother, Brad Tilton; Candace's husband, Bob Sereno; and his brothers-in-law Raymond Altmann and Tom Soltys.
A true icon in the lives of all who knew him, Ed will be remembered for his thoughtful consideration and genuine smile. His legacy lives on in the laughter he sparked, the values he embodied, and the generations he influenced.
A Celebration of Life will be held at The Fountains Golf & Banquet in Clarkston, Michigan, on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, from 1:00 - 5:00pm. The interment will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan on a later date.
