Edwin (Ed) Ray Vitovsky, 71, passed away peacefully at home with cancer on Oct. 13, 2025. Up until the end Ed maintained his faith, kindness, generosity, sense of humor, love of family and friends, and expressed his gratitude for his long life full of memorable experiences. He cherished his family as they did him. He was a devoted husband, loving father and delighted in everything about his three grandchildren. He was proud to be their Papaw. His greatest joy was time and trips with his family. With God, love lives forever.

He was born in Dallas on Feb. 11,1954 to William (Bill) Vitovsky and Eveline Tollie Wood. He lived in Dallas, Duncanville, Cedar Hill and moved to Midlothian in 1985 where he lived the rest of his life. After a life well lived and now reunited with his Lord and Savior, he leaves cherished memories with his wife of 24 years Sherry Miller Huey Vitovsky, son James Vitovsky, stepson Joseph Huey and wife Jennifer, sister Donna Rankin and husband Bruce, brother Royce Vitovsky and wife Yolanda, sister Joyce Drake, grandchildren Roman and Milana Vitovsky and Jaxon Huey, and numerous other beloved family and friends, including former daughter-in-law Lindsay Landin and husband Jared, who remain a cherished part of the family. Ed is preceded in death by his first wife of 24 years, Jacci Habstritt Vitovsky, and his parents.

Ed was dedicated to his custom acrylic fabrication business of over 50 years, Bill`s Plastics, Inc, founded by his father in 1972. He served clients throughout Texas and beyond. Ed loved his work, always had a smile and positive attitude. His crew and clients will miss his unwavering commitment to perfection and exemplary service.

He bought his first motorcycle at age 15 and owned a motorcycle for most of his adult life and is a charter life member of the American Motorcyclist Association. He was a member of the Road and Track motorcycle club for many years and rode to 22 states during his travels. Ed also enjoyed baseball, his favorite sport. He coached and assisted with little league teams for many years.


Ed had a deep faith in God and was ready to go to heaven when his time came. He served his church in many volunteer positions over many years and was active with his church family. One of his favorite church duties was being a member of the safety & security team.

Ed had compassion and love for animals. His many pets over the years were rescues and he enjoyed spoiling them. Their favorite place to nap was snuggled by Ed. In lieu of flowers the family invites you to donate to your local shelter or SPCA in his memory.

A memorial service and celebration of Ed's life will be held on Fri., Oct 31 at 11am, First Baptist Church Midlothian,1651 S. Midlothian Pkwy., Midlothian, TX 76065.
