Eileen Lynn Rice

Eileen Lynn Rice (née Barnard) was born December 3, 1942, and left this world on February 7, 2024. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Michael Lewis Rice, and is survived by Michael's brother Daniel Rice and wife Karen of North Carolina and Michael's sister Helen Brownell and husband Gary of Washington.
Lynn held an MBA degree from Wake Forest University. Her career was spent as an accountant and financial manager primarily in the academic sector. For the five years prior to her retirement she was finance director for the Tanana Valley Campus of the University of Alaska Fairbanks. When Lynn and Mike retired in 1998 from the University of Alaska system and moved to Mayhill, New Mexico, they created New Mexico Skies, a business venture where they operated a remote hosting site for astronomical telescopes. Lynn will be remembered for many things, including her skills as a navigator and builder of airplanes with husband Mike, her curiosity about the natural world, and her love of animals and gardening.
