Eleanor Marie McGraw Kight

Eleanor Marie McGraw Kight,79 of Magee,Mississippi, passed away peacefully on September 19,2025 in Hattiesburg. She was born on October 16,1945, in Mobile Alabama.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her mother, Alma Merlene McLain McGraw; her father, Alexander Stephens McGraw III ; her beloved stepmother, Mildred Olene Dunaway/McGraw,who lovingly raised her from the the age of 7; her brother in law Stevens D. Leslie and her beloved husband, William Brandenburg.

She is survived by her sister, Romona Elaine Leslie; her brother Alexander Stephens McGraw IV; and numerous nieces, great nephews and cousins.

A proud graduate of Murphy High School, class of 1963, Eleanor went on to pursue her passion for caring for others through a career in Nursing. After completing her training at Providence School of Nursing, she became a registered nurse. Her compassion, dedication and skill touched countless lives throughout her long career.

Eleanor had a warm heart and a remarkable gift for connecting with others. She loved people deeply and, in her later years, she enjoyed maintaining these connections through Facebook and phone calls. Those who knew her will remember her positivity, kindness and gentle spirit.

A graveside service will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens in Mobile Al on October 29th at 12:30 pm. In lieu of flowers. please donate to the Wounded Warriors foundation, an organization Eleanor deeply respected.
