Elizabeth "Elise" Ann McGough, 92, passed away on November 1, 2025 following a brief illness and surrounded by members of her loving family. Her profound faith and love of family guided her life.

Elise was born in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston to Elizabeth H. Doyle (Harrington) and Thomas J. Doyle. She was later raised in West Roxbury and enjoyed summers in Scituate, MA. She had an extraordinary gift of musical talent and was able to sing before she could talk. Elise performed regularly in the Boston area both on the radio and with local groups like the Barron Hugo Orchestra. She obtained a degree in business from Regis College and was the first daughter of an alumna from the first graduating class to graduate.

Elise married some time after college, starting her family in Hawaii before returning once again to Massachusetts. Over the years she raised four beloved children. She continued to sing and instilled a love of nature, the arts, spirituality and creativity in her children.

In 1998, Elise left Norwell MA and married her soul mate James B. McGough. She and Jim enjoyed many years of travel, seeing the world before they fulfilled their dream of coastal living, and settled down in Englewood, Florida. Living on the beach she forged many loving relationships with residents and vacationers whom she regarded as family.

Elise was a pioneer of healthy living and made sure she nourished herself with exercise, natural foods and supplements. She was a proud breast cancer survivor who opted for lifestyle change over traditional chemotherapy. With her caring and loving nature she would share her wisdom and compassion with anyone who was struggling with health issues.

Her Manasota Key home was destroyed in the recent hurricanes of 2024, but she was resilient and resumed her life in a cozy apartment with the unwavering love and support of her caretakers, friends and family. She had a remarkable, independent life full of faith, laughter and love.

Elise was predeceased by her loving husband, James B. McGough and her dear daughter Eileen M. Kearney.

Elise is survived by her daughter Kathleen M. Kearney of Weymouth, MA, son Raymond M. Kearney and his wife Amira of Tampa, FL, son David C. Kearney and his husband Odin Moreira of East Bridgewater, MA, brother Kevin T. Doyle and Patricia Hall of Norwell, MA, sister Carolyn H. Garrity of Clifton, VA, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A Memorial Mass and burial will be held at a later date at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Englewood, FL.
