Ethel was a proud graduate of L.B. Landry High School, class of 1968, where she forged lifelong friendships and demonstrated an early passion for the nurturing arts. Following her graduation, she channeled this passion into a fulfilling career, working as a dietician in the food industry. Her dedication to her profession was evident in the care she took in ensuring that those she served received not only nourishment but also comfort through her lovingly prepared meals.

Family was the cornerstone of Ethel's life. Survived by Lawrence Thompson Jr., Two loving Kids Shelita and Kareem Thompson Sr., Grandkids Kareem Thompson Jr., Brittney C. Ellis, Jacoby Thompson. She was a beloved sister to Ann Miles, Ruby, Floyd, Lorraine, James B., and Sue Herron. Each of her siblings cherished their times with Ethel, as she was both a confidante and a beacon of joy within the family. Ethel's warm spirit and infectious laughter brought light into their lives, and her memories will be treasured forever.

Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, Rosie Lee Nicks and James B Herron, as well as her brothers, Larry Herron and Artis Baker Sr. They were undoubtedly there to welcome her with open arms as she entered into eternal rest. Throughout her life, Ethel touched the hearts of many with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering positivity. Her nurturing nature extended beyond her work and family, as she was always ready to lend a hand or an ear to friends and community members alike. Her presence was a gift to all who knew her, and her absence will be deeply felt by the many lives she impacted.
