Evelyn Rae Spurlock Templin, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully in Arizona on September 15, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Born June 13, 1944, in Illinois to Raymond and Marie Spurlock, Evelyn grew up in Gary, Indiana, and attended Emerson High School, where her warm and confident spirit made her loved by all.

On August 6, 1966, she married the love of her life, Jon Francis Templin, and together they shared 59 years of devotion, joy, and family. They raised two sons, Brock and Dr. Cary Templin, instilling in them the values of integrity, compassion, and hard work that defined Evelyn's life.

Dedicated to her family and community, Evelyn served on the Cass Junior High School Board and later found a rewarding career in real estate, where her sincerity, kindness, and honesty made her deeply respected. A lifelong Catholic, her faith quietly guided and strengthened her.

Evelyn was a true friend to all—unselfish, thoughtful, and endlessly loving. She made everyone feel seen and valued. She loved golf, shared a joyful passion for Motown music, and cherished dancing and singing with Jon, her lifelong partner in love and laughter.

She is survived by Jon; her children, Brock (Jennafer) and Cary (J'ne); her grandchildren, Cole, Case, and Calista; and brothers-in-law Allan (Ginny) and David (Kim) Templin.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 1:00-4:00pm at Edgewood Valley Country Club, 7500 Willow Springs Road, Burr Ridge, Illinois.
