Faith Prairie Anderson

Faith P. Anderson, age 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 9, 2025 at Meese Countryside Hospital in Clearwater, FL. Faith lived a full and storied life. Her family had almost 300 years of Québécois roots, then moved to the states after WWI. Faith was an only child, born on Oct 13, 1941 in Hartford, CT to William and Anita Prairie.

She enjoyed learning, and was a straight A student all the way through gradudate school.

She graduated from Hartford Public High School in 1959, and went on to marry and have two sons, Michael and David.

The family moved quite a bit, living in Connecticut, Michigan, Indiana and Ohio.

Faith earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Central Connecticut State, and a master’s degree in Social Work from Wayne State University. She served troubled youth in Indiana and Michigan for her entire career.

After retiring. Faith enjoyed traveling and visiting various sites around the world. She especially liked taking cruises with her breast cancer survivors group. Among her favorite destinations were the Great Wall of China, the Galapagos Islands, and any beach she could find.

Faith was a devoted grandmother to triplets, and split her time between Illinois and Florida, before finally settling in Clearwater.

She was an avid reader, and a fiery lady, who enjoyed bingo and slots in equal measure. She treasured her lifelong friends, was extremely proud of her sons’ accomplishments, and will be remembered and missed by all.

She is survived by her sons Michael (wife Laura) and David (wife Tami) and her three grandchildren Nicholas, Kaitlyn and Emily.

Faith requested no services be held and that her ashes be spread in Old Saybrook, CT. Since she was devoted to her cat Oliver, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the SPCA.
