Francis Edward Bisson

Francis Edward Bisson "Frank", 91, of Vernon, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025, at his home surrounded by family. He was the beloved husband of Mary (McCarron) Bisson.
Born in the Frog Hollow section of Hartford on March 25, 1934, he was the son of the late Peter and Elmina (Mazerolle) Bisson.
He attended the Hartford Trade School, after which he proudly served four years in the United States Navy, including one year during the Korean War. Upon completion of his military service, he earned a bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Connecticut in 1960. Frank dedicated much of his professional life to the Connecticut Department of Transportation, where he worked for many years until his retirement in 2002. He was a devoted husband, father, and family man, Frank treasured time spent with his loved ones.
He will be deeply missed by his cherished "bride" of 69 years, Mary Margaret, and their four children, Eric P. Bisson of Florida, Holly B. Fawell of Costa Rica, Heather A. Bisson of Costa Rica, and Darryl F. Bisson and wife Florence Chen of Taiwan. He was a proud grandfather to Nicole Fawell of New Haven, Arthur Fawell of Chaplin, Catherine Fawell of Coventry, and great-grandfather to Ralph Correia of New Haven. He is also survived by his sister, Anita Kowal of Manchester, as well as extended family and many friends who will cherish his memory.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his four brothers, two sisters and his adoring dog Shauna.
Frank will be remembered for his steady devotion to family, his quiet integrity, and his lifelong commitment to serving his community and country.
A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 2:00 PM with Military honors being presented at 3:30 PM at the Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor, CT 06095.
