Frank Monroe Hunter, 69, passed away on September 25, 2025, in Akron, Ohio. Born on January 12, 1956, in Boulder, Colorado, Frank lived a life marked by intellect, perseverance, and deep devotion to his family and faith.
A graduate of the University of Colorado, Frank was known for his analytical mind and unwavering persistence in all his endeavors. These qualities shaped both his personal and professional life, guiding him through challenges and achievements alike.
Frank shared his life with his beloved wife, Paula Endres Hunter. He embraced her children as his own—step-daughter Erika (Adrienne) Thomas and step-son Andrew (Stef) Shepperd—and took great joy in being a grandfather to Loghan Thomas, Brayden Thomas, Kellen Thomas, Griffin Shepperd, Sawyer Shepperd, and Rowan Shepperd. His love for them was evident and enduring.
He was also a cherished brother-in-law to Craig (Gloria) Beckner and uncle to Robert (Lauren) Beckner and Joseph (Aimee) Beckner. Frank held close the memory of those who preceded him in death: his father Frank Hunter; mother Virginia "Ginger" Hunter Brady; and sister Karen Hunter Beckner.
Frank was a devoted member of Grace Church in Bath, Ohio. His faith community played an important role in his life, especially during times of hardship. Surrounded by his Life Group family and friends from the church, he found strength and companionship that sustained him through a decade-long struggle with poor health.
Despite these challenges, Frank remained steadfast—his intelligence undimmed and his spirit unbroken. His legacy is one of resilience, love for family, and commitment to faith.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
