Send Flowers Plant A Tree
It's been one year since Fred Lowell Hoffman has passed on September 18, 2024. Fred was very much loved by both of us. Fred was first married to Diane Pope of Bowling Green Ohio on September 19, 1975 after eight years of dating. They were high school sweethearts and were married for 33 years. Fred had always said with pride that his hometown was Bowling Green, Ohio. Even when he had a chance to go back to where he previously lived for five years in Maquoketa, Iowa during his high school years he chose purposely to stay in Bowling Green. After their wedding, Fred and Diane settled in Framingham, Massachusetts for nine months. Then they moved to Gainesville, Georgia where they lived there for eight years. Their final move was in 1985 after finding their dream home with plans to start a family in Johns Creek, Georgia. For a while, Fred commuted to Gainesville so Diane could be closer to her job. Then he took a job with Golder Associates and worked there for 20 years becoming a Vice President and Principal within the company.

In 1988 the couple was blessed with a beautiful son. Together they named him, Brandon Christopher. Fred and Brandon adored each other. Fred taught Brandon how to read his first books and recite the Georgia Bulldog "Sic Em" chant. Together, the three of of them built a life filled with love, laughter, birthdays, vacations, and enjoyed the beauty of everyday moments. Even when Brandon chose Auburn University over Fred's beloved UGA, Fred's love for his son never wavered. In 2013, Fred tuned into the Iron Bowl to support Brandon, who was at the game, and witnessed the legendary 'Kick Six' live on TV. He later thanked Brandon, saying without him, he'd have missed one of college football's greatest moments—a sport he cherished deeply. Fred passed away on the anniversary of Fred and Diane's wedding rehearsal dinner. This past year of grief has not been easy but they are getting through it. As a loving tribute to his dad, Brandon has planted a beautiful October Red Glory Maple tree in the front yard next to the trees that Fred had planted when they first moved to their Johns Creek home. They will always remember all the love, laughter, and adventures we shared. Fred is missed every day. May he find peace in God's comforting arms.

In loving memory,

Brandon Hoffman and Diane Pope
