Gail Brown

Jackie "Gail" Brown (Mixon), 72, of Garden Ridge, TX, passed away on September 22, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born July 12, 1953, in Sulligent, AL, to James Casper Mixon and Virginia Nell Rhudy. Gail was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose strength, warmth, and generosity touched many lives. She especially cherished time with her grandsons and was determined to be present in their lives for as long as possible.

She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Walter Christian Brown; her daughter, Virginia "Ruth" Zachary (Jacob); her grandsons, Christian Michael Zachary and Pax Gailen Zachary; and her brother, Henry Webster Mixon (Dorris), along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Lieutenant Colonel James "Howard" Mixon and Kelly Lynn Mixon; and her nephew, Zackery Lynn Mixon.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Triumphant Lutheran Church on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution in her honor to support children's cancer research.

Gail will be remembered for strength, grace, and deep love for her family.
