A Life of Faith
Gary's faith and love for his Savior, Jesus Christ, was the foundation of his life.
His favorite Bible verse was Romans 8:28:
Over the years, Gary often shared about his eternal home in heaven with his Lord and Savior, Jesus.
His trust in God gave him peace and hope, and his faith continues to inspire all who knew him.
Gary Burgdorf, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather,
was born on November 19, 1966, in La Harpe, Illinois, and passed away on July 23, 2025,
at the age of 58. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Roxanne Burgdorf;
his daughters Danielle (Sean) Hanson and Jennifer (Steven) Manty;
his sons Jared (Joy) Atkinson and Thomas Atkinson;
along with many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his brothers
John (Lacie) Burgdorf, Tim Keltgen, and Joe (Tracy) Burgdorf;
his stepmother, Mary Burgdorf;
and many cousins, nieces, and nephews, as well as extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roland Burgdorf;
his mother, Daisy Bush;
and his sister, Katrina Burgdorf.
Gary dearly loved his family. He always looked forward to time with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends.
His legacy of faith, love, and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
His Interests and Passions
Gary enjoyed working on cars, welding, and using his hands to build and repair things.
He loved growing flowers and tending to his own greenhouse.
He also loved hunting and fishing.
Two of his favorite places he enjoyed living were Duluth, Minnesota, and New Orleans, Louisiana.
