George Lewis Sr., 71, passed away on November 8, 2025, in Henderson, Nevada. Born on October 11, 1954, in Cape May Court House, New Jersey, George dedicated his life to service, mentorship, and community.

George spent over 25 years with the Cape May County Sheriff's Department before retiring with distinction. His commitment to public safety and justice left a lasting impression on colleagues and the broader community alike. In addition to his law enforcement career, George served as an instructor at the Cape May County Police Academy, where he helped shape the next generation of officers with his knowledge and experience.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, George was deeply involved in youth sports. He was a longtime coach with the Middle Township Youth Football organization, where he mentored hundreds of young athletes over the years. His influence extended far beyond the field—he instilled values of discipline, teamwork, and perseverance in those he coached. His dedication to youth development became one of the most meaningful aspects of his legacy.

He was preceded in death by his father Leslie Lewis and sister Brenda Lewis.

A man of strength and compassion, George's impact will be felt for generations through the lives he touched—as a husband, father, son, brother, coach, officer, and mentor.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
