Geraldine Hope, 84, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025, in Southlake, Texas. Born on June 25, 1941, in Cardin, Oklahoma, she lived a life marked by deep love for her family and a spirit of kindness that touched all who knew her.
Geraldine was the cherished daughter of Joseph Edward and Jean Cox. She grew up surrounded by a large and loving family and carried those values into her own life as a devoted mother and grandmother. Her children—Susan Hope (Barshiru) of North Richland Hills, Texas; Billie Joe Hope (Nadine) of Cunningham, Kansas; Cindy Hope of Salina, Kansas; Lisa Almaliki (Jay) of Trophy Club, Texas; and Brian Hope (Shelley) of Wichita, Kansas—were the center of her world. She found immense joy in their lives and accomplishments.
Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Chasity, Travis, Jennifer, Emily, Matt, Sarah, Mark, Joey, Megan, Katie, Hunter, Seth, Brianna, Brady, and Ivy. Geraldine also had many great-grandchildren who brought her endless delight. She was a beloved aunt to a host of nieces and nephews who will remember her warmth and generosity.
Geraldine shared a special bond with her sister Linda Coerber of Grove, Oklahoma. After the passing of her husband Hershel, Geraldine moved to Grand Lake to be near Linda. The two sisters created countless memories together—embarking on road trips, enjoying shopping excursions, and sharing lunches filled with laughter and companionship.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Hershel, great granddaughter Kayla Dawn Parret; great great-grandson Kelsin Dean Frisbie; sisters Martha Coppedge, Jowilla Harper, Joann Rains, Judy Kessler, Delores Owen's; and brothers Donald Cox, Danny Cox, Gary Cox, Jack Cox, and Kenneth Cox.
Geraldine's life was defined by the love she gave so freely to those around her. Her gentle nature and unwavering devotion to family leave behind a legacy that will be treasured for generations.
May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. A Memorial Gathering will be held on November 22, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Paul Thomas funeral Home 1432 B. Street N.W. A burial of her cremains will follow the service at G.A.R. cemetery in Miami, Oklahoma.
