Geraldine D. McQueen

Geraldine (Dodge) McQueen, 91, of Hingham, MA, died peacefully at home on October 1, 2025.

Gerry was born to George Kenneth and Cora Brooks Dodge on January 23rd, 1934, in Boston.

Graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Education from Bridgewater State University enabled Gerry to fulfill a lifelong dream to become a teacher. A loving, caring, and wonderful teacher in both the Weymouth, MA, and Shirley, MA, schools, Gerry's favorite grades to teach were Kindergarten through 3rd. Her students loved her and many kept in touch. She was a former member of Pilgrim Congregational Church in North Weymouth and United Church of Christ in Shirley, and sang soprano in both choirs.

Beloved wife of The Reverend Dale B. McQueen of Hingham, MA. Gerry's deep Christian faith provided her much comfort in her belief that death is not an end, but a going home to the arms of Jesus.

Dear mother to Laura Cosgrove of Sandwich, MA, Jennifer Morse of Carver, MA, and Frank Palmer of Columbus, OH.

A special person in Gerry's life was her children's father, the late Charles A. Palmer.

Stepmother of Scott McQueen of Quincy, MA, and Sheryl Mendela of Saint Cloud, FL.

Grandmother of Alyssa, Coralee, John, Dylan, Danéa, Constance, Erin, Rebecca ,and Alison.

Grandma Gerry is survived by 13 beautiful great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family at Gerry's Celebration of Life on Friday, October 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., United Church of Christ, 460 Main Street, Norwell, MA.

Burial is private.
