Geraldine Jeanette "Jerry" Samuels (née Lykins), born on September 13, 1934, in Winchester, Indiana, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025, in Georgetown, South Carolina. She was 91 years old.

Jerry was the beloved daughter of Marvin A. Lykins and Helen M. Lykins and was also lovingly raised by her stepmother, Edith Lykins. Throughout her long and fulfilling life, Jerry embraced every chapter with resilience and warmth.

She attended Penns Grove Regional High School, laying the foundation for a life marked by hard work and dedication. Over the years, Jerry held positions at several well-known companies including Anchor Hocking, Hygrade Bakery Co., Howard Johnson, and Sea World. Her diverse career path reflected her adaptability and strong work ethic.

Family was central to Jerry’s life. She is survived her brother Bob Lykins (Fay) of Haines City, Florida; step-brother Bill Schaffer (Kathy); three children: Helen Rodola (Mike) of Dayton, Tennessee; Sherry Dougherty (Wayne) of Pennsville, New Jersey; and Daniel Shimp (Juli) of Georgetown, North Carolina. She also leaves behind four step-children: Tracy Irvin (Joseph) of Russell Springs, Kentucky; Brandy Pyla (John) of Russell Springs, Kentucky; Blayne Samuels of Carney's Point, New Jersey; and Mannie Samuels (Linda) of Easton, Pennsylvania.

Jerry’s legacy continues through her large and loving family that includes 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Her presence will be deeply missed across generations.

She was preceded in death by her beloved Husband Mannie Samuels, her parents Marvin A. Lykins and Helen M. Lykins; stepmother Edith Lykins; son Roland D. Shimp Jr.; stepsister Alice Shaffer; and stepbrother Elseworth Shaffer.

In addition to her devotion to family and work, Jerry found joy in bowling—a passion she pursued actively for many years. Alongside her husband, she traveled across the country in their motor home, embracing adventure and creating cherished memories along the way.
