Gilbert Banuelos

After a lengthy valiant struggle with silicosis Gilbert Banuelos passed away on
November 2, 2025. He was born to Carmen and William Banuelos on January 9,
1950 at Camp Cook, Lompoc, California.

Gil graduated from Lompoc High School in 1968, then went to work at Grefco, Inc.
for approximately 18 years. He completed a second career and retired from the
University of Colorado, Boulder, Colorado.

Gil is survived by his wife and best friend of 44 years, Valerie Paschal Banuelos;
his son Michael Banuelos, daughters Michele Wallace, Megan Banuelos and
Anjanette Banuelos. His brothers Michael Velasco, Joe Velasco, Ron Velasco and Chuck Velasco; sisters Maggie Wuest, Elaine Costa and Lydia Medina. Also his
devoted brother-in-law Mark Paschal, niece Juliette Zook and nephews Michael
Paschal and Joshua Urdank

He is preceded in death by his parents, son Mathew Banuelos, granddaughter Macy Wallace and his brother Art Velasco

At Gil's request there will be no formal service.
