Glora Lee (DeGolier) Ulrop of Honeoye Falls, NY passed away on Monday, 27 Oct. 2025 at Advent House, Perinton, NY after a good fight against cancer. Glora is predeceased by her parents, Elmer (1899-1985) and Winona (1907-2000) DeGolier of Brocton, NY. As well as siblings: Sisters Joyce June (Edwin) Smith of Conneaut, Ohio, Beverly May (Harold) Reynolds of Spartansburg, NC, Joan Elizabeth (Morris) McCargo of Pike, NY, Theora Mae and Richard Gens of Fredonia, NY, Ardys Eva and George Price of Erie, PA, Valerie Eileen Zydel (Peter)of Rochester, NY; Brothers Dexter Alan (Beverly) of Forestville, NY; Gordon Elmer (Lois) of Ripley, NY; Warren Clair (Susan) of Fredonia, NY.
She is survived by her children Kurt (Mieke) and Shelly, grandchildren Mackenzie (Jake) Ulropsen, Tristan and Riley. As well as siblings: Sisters Wanda Belle Kelley (Homer - Dec'd), Albion, NY: Rozella Ann Homuth (Paul - Dec'd) of Vienna, VA, Sheila Rae Jackson of Greenville, SC, Sharon Avis Barone (Joe) of Naples, NY; Charlene Mavis Plymyer of Girard, PA; Janeen Brenda Noetling ( Pete-Dec'd) of Charlottesville, NC; Brothers: Dennis Leroy (Shirley) of Fredonia, NY; Carl Edward (Helen - Deceased) of Guntersville, Alabama; Keith Robert of Batavia, NY; Reed Frank of Wyoming; and many nieces, nephews, cousins.
Glora was born on 17 March 1933 in Sardinia, NY. She attended Roberts Wesleyan College in Chili, NY; worked in Social Services and Home Health Care. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and watching them grow and thrive. She was an avid hiker with accomplishments including the Appalachian Trail, Camino de Santiago (pilgrimage walk in Spain), Costa Rica and Grand Canyon. She was a member of The Peace Corps and the Order of the Eastern Star. She traveled extensively. She spent her retirement caring for all those in the community in need. Glora lived a great life.
Services will be held on Saturday 29 March 2025 at St John's Episcopal Church, 11 Episcopal Ave Honeoye Falls NY. The service will begin at 10 am followed by light refreshments. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Glora's memory to The Advent House 1010 Moseley Road, Fairport NY 14450 or St John's Episcopal Church, 11 Episcopal Ave Honeoye Falls NY 14472.
