Born Louise Gray Allison, Gray passed away peacefully on October 19, 2025, from complications following a stroke she suffered on September 21, 2025. She was born on December 14, 1940, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Crawford G. Allison, Jr. and Louise Pettit Allison.

Gray fondly remembered the happiest days of her youth as the time she spent living on a farm under the loving care of their grandparents. It was during these years that she developed her lifelong love and admiration for horses, and she spoke often of the peace she felt in this environment. She bonded deeply with her sister Pam Lambert here who remained a steadfast source of support and companionship throughout Gray’s life.

A fiercely independent woman, Gray pursued a career in marketing and advertising after graduating from Plymouth Whitemarsh High School. While working in the advertising industry, she met Albert “Bud” Christy, whom she later married. Together, they had two children — Mark Christy and Barrett Christy Cummins — who were her greatest pride and joy. Gray infused her independent spirit, sense of humor, and strong work ethic into her children and devoted her life to their well-being.

Gray enjoyed a long and fulfilling career, working well into her 84th year. She spent many years in the blueprint industry, where her ability to connect with people made her a natural in client relations and customer service. A lifelong worshipper of the sun, Gray loved being outdoors and took daily walks to stay active. She had a special affection for basset hounds, who never failed to bring out her joyful and exuberant side.

Family was the center of Gray’s world. She took great pride in supporting her daughter Barrett’s adventurous path in the mountains and snowboarding world, even as it took her across the country to Washington state. Barrett and her husband, Temple Cummins, blessed Gray with two grandchildren, Cannon and Ayla, who lovingly knew her as “GG.” Her son Mark Christy and his wife Andrea, who lived nearby, shared a close bond with Gray, providing love, laughter, and steadfast support in her later years.

Gray’s quick wit and sarcastic sense of humor were hallmarks of her personality and endeared her to all who knew her. Barrett and Mark recall their childhood home often filled with laughter, especially during lively bridge games with her closest friends. Gray’s independent spirit, warmth, and humor left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.

Gray was predeceased by her brother Crawford "Corky" Greene Allison III, and is survived by her children, Barrett (Temple) Cummins of Sequim, WA, and Mark (Andrea) Christy of Aston, PA; her beloved grandchildren, Ayla and Cannon Cummins; her sister, Pamela Lambert of Lafayette Hill, PA, step-sister Susan Gehris of Fort Myers, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial for Gray will be held at a later date, to be determined at the family’s discretion.

Donations in Gray’s honor would be accepted at Tri-State Bassett Hound Rescue: PO Box 126, Milmay NJ 08340
